Before I start, I wasn’t sure which category I should be putting this in. It’s a post about food, but it isn’t a post about me making food. I’ve concluded that the ‘Personal’ category is most appropriate but that is mainly motivated by the fact that I’m low on ideas for my personal at the moment. SO with that pathetic excuse (because, let’s be honest, most excuses are pathetic) let’s begin.

On Father’s Day I was an angel of a daughter and dedicated my entire day to doing things with my dad (with him paying…). I still insist that I’m still too young to fund these day outs. Anyway, after a jam packed day of going to the V&A, the National (they have a butterfly bit and if you can overlook the overwhelming humidity, is really pretty) and the science museum, we drove all the way to Archway* to visit an ice cream shop recommended to my dad by a colleague.

It was worth it.

The flavours they had were like nothing I have ever seen before, have you had horseradish ice cream before? Well… actually I haven’t, but my dad has and it wasn’t horrific! I had raspberry, prosecco and lavender sorbet and banana ice cream, and I can say for certain that that first taste was an experience I would sell my soul for. They had countless more exciting flavours, strawberry sorbet for instance. I know strawberry is a done to death flavour, but it’s feels magical in this little store and there’s the point that sorbets are just so much more exciting.

If you’re one of those people who only eat vanilla ice cream, I suggest you go to this place to get converted, because I’m fairly certain you’d get slapped if asked for vanilla. Also, you don’t want to be a ‘vanilla person’, I mean, think about the bad press they get. Honestly, go to this place and your quality of life will be improved by 500% (that’s a real statistic from science).

I really hope you enjoyed this, albeit brief, post. If you do decide to visit this place, it is called RibyViolet and I have put the link below. Have fun eating your exciting ice cream! :)

*For those of you who aren’t from around here, Archway is far. Very far.
